SCIFI CONGRESS GOES LIVE!!!

 Sci-Fi Congress Facebook Page

“Joined together in the promotion and protection of the Science Fiction genre, as a progressive element in society.”

Suzy Phillips from Save Stargate Universe, Martin Cook fromSave Stargate Universe UK , Kevin McColl from Save SciFi Channel, Joseph Sardone from Save Future Stargate Travel , Rodger Phillips from Save Stargate Universe AU, and Jake Ronen from Occupy SyFy have worked together to bring to life the Science Fiction Congress, a place where the impossible becomes reality and unity is paramount.

As you know, the last year has been hard on Science Fiction fans. Many of our favorite programs have been cancelled. The one station dedicated to this genre has rebranded yet again, moving away from its original content to alienate us all. There have been multiple campaigns , movements, and protests by science fiction fans to reinstate these television programs and prevent the loss of any other footholds science fiction holds in today’s media. There have been many clashes of said groups in their fight to reclaim what we all hold dear. We are moving forward, joining all pages and groups willing, to protect and promote true Science Fiction.

The issue was that there was no unified front from which all of these groups could work together. There was no greater platform to speak our desires and be heard by those who we were trying to reach. And over the last few months, several of the leaders of these groups came together with the realization that we have moved beyond one certain television program or agenda. That we needed one place where all ideas were welcome, a home base where multiple campaigns and protests could be launched from. One place where news was shared with everyone and all could participate. It now exists.

We declare that we are a united front to promote Science Fiction as a revered and respected genre in today’s society, reflected in both film and literary content; to take appropriate action towards ensuring that the genre prospers; and to disseminate and spread these ideals through means including but not limited to campaigns, protest movements, and promotion of the above stated.

We are the Science Fiction Congress. The past is behind us and we are moving forward. We welcome you.
